Get Decent Beginner Guitar Lessons Online with Jamorama...
You've probably already found many beginner guitar lessons online for free with YouTube and information web sites on the web. You may however want a more structured lesson plan rather than searching through the scattered information all over the web. I suggest you take a look at Jamorama, which I've purchased and reviewed for your information below. Important note: Jamorama is for beginners and maybe some intermediate players. I will review products for more advanced guitarists in future so you can skip this article if you're already good on the guitar. Product Name: Jamorama - The ultimate guitar learning kit! Company: Rock Star Recipes Ltd, internet-based company from New Zealand. Format: Downloadable standalone software for PC or Mac. Description: The downloadable Jamorama product contains two e-books, Jamorama Beginners and Jamorama Advanced which contain 64 video examples and exercises, with 148 videos in total. You also get five bonus items which include computer games and e-books in the Jamorama Learning Kit. Cost: $39.95 for the downloadable version of Jamorama (correct at the time of writing). Level: Beginner guitar. So, how's the quality? It's good. The software is basic, easy to use and does the job of presenting the content without being a distraction. The Look & Feel of the interface is not the most beautiful of designs in my opinion though I feel this is a minor point because the goal is to learn guitar, not appreciate software design. The actual content of the guitar lessons is of a high quality and the video and audio jam tracks demonstrate the actual methods and techniques in a clear way. Is it easy to use? Yes, you can easily navigate between the books and the lessons and the videos and audio opens with the click of a button. The lessons start at the basics and then lead you step-by-step through the course, adding new skills and theory as you go a along. You can proceed to each next lesson at your own pace. How about Support? The company offers e-mail support. I have not had the need to use support, so for now I can not comment on the quality level of the e-mail support you'll receive. Can you ask for a refund? Yes, you get a 60 day 100% money back guarantee. Is it worth the investment? Yes, Jamorama offers you access to good quality beginner guitar lessons online which means you don't have to pay for expensive offline guitar instruction. You also get to progress at your own pace in the comfort of your own home. This does however ask for some discipline and focus from your side as nobody is holding your hand to make sure you progress. Is it as good as the sales page makes it out to be? Jamorama has one of those "goes-on-to-the-end-of-the-earth-hard-sell-every-copywriting-trick-in-the-book-included" type of sales pages which promises you "you'll get EVERYTHING you need to learn how to play amazing guitar FAST... you'll quickly be learning and jamming songs that you've only just heard; and you'll be impressing everyone with yours skills -- including yourself!". Hype? I think so. ;-) I don't think any beginner guitar lessons online will show you how to become amazing on the guitar fast because it's not possible. It takes thousands of hours of practice to become amazing on any instrument. The course is however a low-cost, decent way for you to get the basics of guitar playing down and create a foundation on which to build your playing skills. So, I suggest you ignore the Jamorama sales page hype and get the product which is definitely worth the money for beginners. You can request a refund within 60 days should you not like the product so if you're on the fence I'd say try it because you have nothing to lose. Once again though, you should ignore this product unless you are an aspiring or beginner guitarist, in which case you should go for it! You can
visit the Jamorama web site
to place your order or to find out more about the product before you buy. Remember, you have to practice and hone your skills, there's no magic formula, and no beginner guitar lessons online which will make you great. The lessons only show you how to practice and it's up to you to follow the lessons. I know the above may be common sense to you though you'd be amazed at how many newcomers think they'll be able to get amazing on an instrument fast and give up because it's harder than they thought. Forget the hype and pay your dues and in time, with patience and practice you'll become good on the guitar, and then great. Jamorama is a good guitar course with which to start your journey in music. Here's to your success! Marius van Dyk
